About Mrs. Reis

Who am I?

My name is Lisa Reis and this is a picture of me and my family. I recently celebrated my tenth wedding anniversary, and I have two beautiful boys. We often enjoy our time together in the outdoors!

I teach sixth grade math and science at ETSU University School. I began my career in 2010 teaching eighth grade math. I am certified in K-8 across all content areas, but I have a special interest in math and science.
I graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Health Science from Florida International University and a Master of Arts in Teaching from East Tennessee State University.

What am I working on right now?

  • I am currently working on a STEM Graduate Certificate and an endorsement for Gifted Education
  • This summer, I am enrolled in two graduate courses - Inquiry and Creativity in Stem Education and General Ecology
  • Completed training on Code Academy
  • I recently participated in a workshop on implementing PBL in the classroom called "Hacking Project Based Learning"
  • In a few weeks, I will be joining in a 3-day conference called PBL World
  • I will also be participating in a full week workshop on coding that is provided by Code.org

It is going to be a summer full of learning!
